Greatindonesia.co.id, Jakarta – Spokesman for Prabowo-Sandi National Winning Body (BPN) Andre Rosiade revealed it will report back 98 activists, who had approached the Police over allegations of Prabowo Subianto masterminding the riots on May 22, 2019.
“The legal team will later report back the activists, if indeed they are really activists,” Rosiade had stated in Jakarta on Thursday (30/5/2019).
Rosiade remarked that the accusation was leveled to defame the 02 presidential candidate.
The member of the Gerindra Communication Agency noted that Prabowo being accused of masterminding the May 22 riots was an attempt to spread slander, and he was certain that the activists reported about it without evidence.
“I am certain that there is no evidence, as it does not exist, and this is an attempt to spread slander against Pak Prabowo, and it cannot be tolerated,” he emphasized.
Rosiade pointed out that if they were indeed 98 activists, who had clashed on the streets, what should have been highlighted was the loss of lives during the riots, such as during those in 1998.
“Well, this is strange. The fact that activists have just spread slander about the mastermind behind the riots, is not the victim of the riots that clearly has victims,” he pointed out.
Rosiade noted that it was in fact Prabowo, who had repeatedly requested his supporters demonstrating in front of the Bawaslu office to go back home.
“Hence, it does not make sense. As an activist, his reasoning should be directed to the victims of violence,” he stated.
Earlier, several people, on behalf of the National Rembug 98, had rallied in front of the National Police Headquarters, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Wednesday (May 29).
The rally was staged with the objective of reporting Prabowo and several other people to the Police over accusations of masterminding the May 22 riots. In his speech, apart from Prabowo, they also mentioned the names of Titiek Soeharto, Neno Warisman, Amien Rais, Kivlan Zen, and Fadli Zon. (ant)
ANTI-GRAFT BODY SAYS DETENTION CENTER MANAGED ACCORDING TO RULES
Greatindonesia.co.id, Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission has stated that the management of the anti-graft body’s detention house is carried out in accordance with all regulations.
“In fact, there was a visit from the Directorate General of Penitentiary of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to see the suitability of the facilities, procedures, and management of other prisons,” said the commission’s spokesman Febri Diansyah here on Thursday (20/6/2019).
Previously Romahurmuziy also known as Rommy, the suspect in a bribery case at the Ministry of Religion, had distributed copies of letters to the media about complaints from suspects detained at the commission’s detention house.
“Being a detainee does have a lot of restrictions. If you want to live freely, you should not do anything that violates the laws from the start, especially in this context of alleged corruption,” said Febri.
Rommy shared two copies of the letters from detainees, dated January 6 and January 29, 2019.
In the January 6 letter it was alleged that prisoners must be handcuffed when going to worship and at other activities.
“Related to the time for worship, the the commission has assisted according to the religious teachings of each detainee. So, it is not true to say prisoners are handcuffed while carrying out the worship,” Febri said.
In a letter dated January 29, it was stated that inhuman treatment of detainees at the anti-graft body’s detention house, included the confiscation of simple electric cooking utensils.
“Regarding the heating of food, it was also mentioned that electric utensils were prohibited from being brought in,” Febri said.
The commission, he said, hoped that this would be a lesson for the public, especially for officials who should not commit corrupt acts.
“If one is processed in a corruption or other criminal case and is detained, there will be restrictions on their freedom that are, indeed, regulated according to applicable criminal regulations,” he said. (ant)
NAT’L POLICE’S BUDGET IN 2020 STANDS AT Rp111,42 TRILLION : INSTITUTE
Greatindonesia.co.id, Jakarta – The Indonesian Police Strategic Study Institute (Lemkapi) has stated that the National Police budget proposal of Rp111.42 trillion for 2020 submitted to the House of Representatives Commission III is realistic in allowing the police to face increasingly difficult tasks and answer the high expectations of the community towards the National Police.
“In 2020, the task of the National Police is increasingly difficult. The spread of radicalism, intolerance, political conflict, the spread of drugs and terrorism still remain a threat to society and become the important duty of the Police in the future.” said Lemkapi Executive Director Dr. Edi Hasibuan here on Wednesday (19/6/2019).
According to Edi, the development of regional, national and global situations will influence the Indonesian people in the future.
The proposed budget can be understood if you look at the budget posture, namely the employee budget of Rp50.20 trillion, goods expenditure of Rp39.06 trillion and capital expenditure of Rp22.15 trillion, said Edi.
“Our calculation is not much different from the proposal of the National Police Headquarters. To have a professional police force, the ratio of the salary and operational budget of the Indonesian National Police must be 50:50,” said Edi.
In 2019, the National Police budget was Rp86.2 trillion, while in 2018 the National Police budget was 95.0 trillion. (ant)
BAWASLU NOT RECEIVE REPORTS OF INTELLIGENCE AND POLICE PARTISANSHIP
Greatindonesia.co.id, Jakarta – The General Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of the Republic of Indonesia stated that it had never received a report on intelligence support for one of the candidate pairs and police officers carrying out data collection on support in communities for presidential and vice presidential candidates.
“The Petitioner in the argument argued that there was an intelligence alignment with one of the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pairs. That Bawaslu and its staff had never received a report or received a report related to intelligence to one of the candidate pairs,” said Chairman of Bawaslu Abhan in the Constitutional Court Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (18/6/2019).
In a lawsuit filed by the candidate pair Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno, it was claimed that the Pasirwangi police chief, Garut District, was ordered by the Garut police chief to garner support for the candidate pair Joko Widodo-KH Ma’ruf Amin.
Abhan said the Bawaslu of Garut District and Bawaslu of West Java Province had never found or received reports related to the non-neutrality of the police in Garut District.
Bawaslu of Garut District, said that he had conducted an investigation by clarifying events on April 4, 2019 with former Pasirwangi police chief adjunct commissioner AKP Sulman Azis, the City Police Chief of the North Sumatra Police, Commissioner Uus Susilo, the Karangpawitan police chief Commissioner Oon Suhendar and Kadungora police chief Commissioner Jajang Rahmat.
Based on the results of the clarification, the facts from Jajang Rahmat found that a meeting with the Garut Regional Police Chief was held regularly twice a week to discuss the mapping of regional vulnerabilities, in order to maintain public order in each region.
In addition, Uus Susilo said the Garut Police Chief ordered a mapping of areas prone to conflict in the 2019 Election, but there was no order to support one candidate pair.
“After the investigation process was conducted, Garut District Election Supervisory Body concluded that the incident could not be used as a finding of alleged election violations, because formal and material requirements were not fulfilled,” Abhan said. (her)
