JAKARTA TO APPLY ODD-EVEN TRAFFIC POLICY ON TWO-WHEELERS

The Jakarta administration has not yet explained the plan to implement the odd-even traffic policy for two-wheeled vehicles, although the expansion of the policy will be announced soon.

Greatindoensia.co.id, Jakarta – The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will implement the odd-even policy for two-wheelers as a follow-up to the Governor’s Instruction (Ingub) Number 66 Year 2019 regarding Air Quality Control immediately after discussions with related agencies. The plan to implement the odd-even traffic policy will be followed up by the Jakarta administration along with a number of agencies including the Jakarta Transportation Agency, the Jakarta Police, the Jakarta Security Transportation Board and the Transportation Management Agency Wednesday at the City Hall of Jakarta.

However, the Jakarta administration has not yet explained the plan to implement the odd-even traffic policy for two-wheeled vehicles, although the expansion of the policy will be announced soon.

The Jakarta Transportation Agency is currently finalizing the plan, Jakarta Transportation Agency head Syafrin Liputo said.

There are a number of considerations for determining a road for the odd-even traffic policy.

“We will consider the aspect of environmental quality that it is very alarming. Determining a road for the odd-even traffic policy considers that aspect,” he remarked. (azs)

LRT JAKARTA COMMERCIALLY OPERATES WITH FLAT-RATE TARIFF

LRT Jakarta had opened a free-of-charge trial run to the public from July to late November 2019, with a route covering six stations - Velodrome, Equestrian, Pulomas, Boulevard Selatan, Boulevard Utara, and Pegangsaan Dua.

Greatindonesia.co.id, Jakarta – Jakarta’s light rail transit (LRT) officially operated commercial services on Sunday (1/12/2019) morning by applying a flat-rate tariff of Rp5,000 (36 cents) per passenger per trip.

LRT Jakarta had opened a free-of-charge trial run to the public from July to late November 2019, with a route covering six stations – Velodrome, Equestrian, Pulomas, Boulevard Selatan, Boulevard Utara, and Pegangsaan Dua.

Around 30 percent of the tariff is subsidized by the Jakarta provincial government as the actual tariff for the operational service could reach tens of thousand rupiah.

The General Manager of LRT Jakarta’s Operation and Service Aditya Kesuma confirmed that the subsidized tariff would not have any impact on its service since it is a public service oriented.

“LRT also has a partnership agreement with the government concerning on minimum service standards that we have to implement,” Kesuma noted. (ibl)

MRT JAKARTA OFFERS FIVE STATION NAMING RIGHTS

Greatindonesia.co.id, Jakarta – PT MRT Jakarta has offered five station-naming rights in 2020 to add to the existing five named stations, which contribute to the company’s earnings from station commercialization. “At the moment there are five (named stations), we are targeting five more in the next year,” said PT MRT Jakarta President Director William Sabandar in his presentation titled “MRT Jakarta: Guarding Sustainability” in Jakarta, Wednesday (27/11/2019).

Five stations that have received the naming rights contract include Dukuh Atas BNI, Setiabudi Astra, Istora Mandiri, Blok M BCA and Lebak Bulus Grab.

MRT Jakarta has 13 stations, but one of them, the ASEAN station, has not been contracted because it was a grant from the DKI Jakarta Government as an appreciation to ASEAN.

With 10 stations contracted, Jakarta MRT has two more stations that are still available.

One of the stations with the highest bid is the Bundaran HI Station and MRT Jakarta is currently still delaying the opening of that bid.

“(In 2020) We will open the bidding for Bundaran HI. There is big potential,” he said.

The naming rights were one of the biggest contributors in terms of non-farebox revenue, reaching 33 percent after advertising, which contributed 55 percent, he said.

For example, the value of the Lebak Bulus Station contracted by Grab, reached Rp33 billion a year.

“For this reason, we must encourage naming rights to increase revenue from the non-farebox side,” he said.

Non-ticket revenue sources amounted to Rp225 billion, which is greater than the revenue from tickets or farebox totaling Rp180 billion, until the end of 2019, Sabandar further said.

From the non-ticket revenue, the biggest contributor was advertising with 55 percent, naming rights was 33 percent, telecommunications was two percent and retail and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) was one percent.

The other nine percent came from bank interests and foreign exchange differences valued at Rp40 billion. (ant)

JAKARTA GOVERNOR MANDATED TO LEAD APPSI

Greatindonesia.co.id, Jakarta – Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan said Tuesday (26/11/2019) that he was mandated to lead the Indonesian Provincial Government Association (APPSI) for the 2019-2023 period. Under his leadership, he had several programs that would be implemented, including introducing new variables for calculating allocated development budget for archipelagic regions, he told journalists after attending the APPSI’s national meeting here.

“One of the proposed programs that a majority of the meeting’s participants, particularly those coming from the eastern parts of Indonesia were told about, is related to the variables applied for calculating development budget for the archipelagic regions,” he said.

The governors whose territories consist of islands and isles complained about having a one-size-fits-all method for calculating the development budget for both land-based territories and archipelagic ones.

For the archipelagic areas with a small population, their development tends to go rather slowly, he said, adding that the new formulated variables for calculating the allocated development budget would later be offered to the central government as a working program.

Born on May 7, 1969 in Kuningan, West Java Province, Anies Baswedan is well known by the Indonesian public as a scholar, political analyst, and activist.

Before getting involved in public services as the governor, Baswedan had led the Paramadina University in Jakarta, and the Ministry of Education and Culture in the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla administration’s cabinet line-up. (boy)
